FreJun is an artificial intelligence assistant that records phone calls and web conference meetings and provides automated transcripts and notes after the meeting. I found FreJun to be innovative by removing the burden of taking meeting minutes and letting artificial intelligence take over!
Once I created an account with FreJun, I started a conference call and added the FreJun agent to the call by adding the FreJun phone number as a caller.
Within a minute of the meeting being completed, the FreJun software sent me a notification indicating the transcript was available. The software identified the different speakers, created a meeting summary and generated action items based on the conversation. It is important to review the transcript, action items and meeting summary for accuracy and completeness. If additional action items need to be added, the user can highlight the sentence in the transcript, right-click and it will be added to the Action Items.
The phone call can be played back and shared with meeting participants. FreJun works with web conference meetings as well. Simply schedule the meeting, including a dial-in phone number and send a calendar invitation to meetings frejun. When the web conference starts, FreJun will start recording! Team members also take notes but it is very helpful to get a transcript in addition to the recorded meeting.
The key benefit for project teams is saving time and easily identify key actionable insights without having a team member bear the administrative note-taking burden. Meetings often go off-track and a note-taker may miss and action item.
With FreJun, you can quickly scan a transcript and confirm or revise action items. Each of these tools have their own unique strengths to help meeting organizer facilitate better meetings.
The table below summarizes the major features and pricing. As you assess each of these decisions, determine the data sensitivity and the risk associated with storing meeting minute data and documents in the cloud. People are embracing the cloud however organizations will need assurance on how their data is hosted and protected.
However, each of these companies should be able to provide a SOC 2 compliance certificate or comparable proof of secure hosting. Meeting minute software will help your organization manage their efficiency conducting meetings and documenting the outcomes and action items for subsequent meetings.
If you are organizing a board meeting, the need for meeting minute software increases. If you are running your daily stand-up or a quick status meeting, using meeting minute software may be overkill as the team has other compensating processes. Since individual company needs differ based on market and business needs, I encourage all of you to visit these solutions and request a free trial.
I recently had the opportunity to download and review the MindGenius release - their latest mind mapping software Project Management Software. Beenote Meeting Minute Software. Agenda Items with Objectives. Beenote Meeting Minutes. Beenote Task Tracking. I wanted to find out. I looked for software that did in-person transcription of meetings i. All these work on Android and iOS, and most only support English language at the moment.
Reason8 does support other languages, but works best for American English at this time. Reason8 is award-winning software for recording in-person meetings. Each participant in the room needs the app on their phone. There is no desktop version. There is a free plan, which will be enough for you to get started. Instead, the app works its magic behind the scenes and knits together the recordings from each device to give you the best quality transcript.
I tested desktop version via browser 25 June update As at June I have a paid version of Otter and it is the tool I use myself. Otter is a note-taking app that also records in-person meetings. It does work from the browser window on a desktop, or via an app on your phone or tablet. It also has the ability to sync your calendar with either Google calendar and Microsoft Outlook. It identifies speakers, lets you highlight key phrases and creates a transcript in real time that you can see on the screen.
I also like the fact that you can take photos during your recording on the app version. I could snap a photo of the notes on the whiteboard to embed in the meeting notes.
Voicera is also a meetings minutes transcription tool but has other unique features. This one integrates with your calendar. It uses an AI assistant as the way to capture your meeting notes. Integrate with the calendar, and then invite Eva, the AI assistant, to the meetings. Voicera has predictive highlights, so it tries to summarize important moments in the meeting for you.
As with the other tools, you can play back parts of the meeting once it is recorded to compare the transcript to the speech. It was easy to get the Reason8 app on my Android phone. I had been warned that the Android version is not as mature as the iOS version, but it was still simple to install. Otter was the easiest to set up as I only needed the app on one device. I really liked the fact that it works from the browser, which was very handy for this test as I needed so many devices!
I had to speak into the app for a sentence or two so that it learned my voiceprint. You can also tag other speakers manually so that Otter starts to learn what they sound like for better recognition.
Voicera was definitely the hardest to set up. I logged in through the browser but once into the website, it took me a while to work out what I was supposed to do next. I had to validate my email address, and it recommends you use a work email address. This should be the same one you use to schedule meetings. You can integrate Voicera with Google calendar or Office as part of the set up, and you are encouraged to do that. Then you create a meeting not from Voicera — you have to do this in your normal calendar tool , and add eva voicera.
Eva will join as a participant to record the meeting, take notes, and send a meeting summary to your email. A meeting agenda is often shared ahead of time. As a result, it can serve as a template for the meeting minutes themselves.
Given that the meeting is likely to follow the agenda, it is possible to formulate minutes based on the agenda. Some people like to copy and paste the agenda into their meeting minutes template. Then, as the topics are discussed, they simply expand on the topics listed on the agenda. That way, when they share meeting minutes with other people, they can compare them to their own agenda, following it easily. This may be an easy way for those taking meeting minutes to keep up with what is happening during the meeting.
On the other hand, it is also important for the person running the meeting to stay on track with the agenda. Otherwise, the person recording the meeting minutes they have a hard time keeping up.
Clearly, there is a lot involved when it comes to running an effective meeting today. That is why it is important to take advantage of a meeting minutes app that comes with free transcription software. With the help of a minute taker app that includes the option to transcribe audio to text free, it is possible to get a little more out of meetings. That is where Docket can be helpful.
